The center is formed by the new station building and the two platform roofs. Base walls with fences and back plantings are used to frame the entire station square. The "Rhätisch Bähnli" restaurant will be included in the redesign. Asphalt will be used for most of the station area, while natural stone pavers will be used for the reception area. Solitary shrubs and especially a special tree on Platz West accentuate the common areas. The gravel shrub areas are densely planted with a variety of plants. Round benches are installed in each plaza to provide a pleasant place to linger and interact. The bikeable area is considered a 30 mph zone and is separated from the pedestrian area only by tactile and visual boundaries. Both bicycle and pedestrian paths traverse the entire plaza.
