Garden City Falkenberg

In close proximity to the `Gartenstadt Falkenberg` UNESCO World Heritage Site, constructed by Bruno Taut in 1913–15, with open spaces by Ludwig Lesser, the spirit of modernism lives on in the expansion of the housing estate. The new development area is divided into smaller residential quarters that merge with the adjacent park.

In direct proximity to the “Gartenstadt Falkenberg” UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was built in 1913–15 by Bruno Taut, with open spaces by Ludwig Lesser, the spirit of modernism lives on in the expansion of the settlement. The development area is divided up into smaller residential districts, whose entrance areas are oriented toward the traffic-calmed green zones. These zones become a public open space within the neighborhoods that invites playing and spending time together. In the rearward areas, the private gardens are arranged in alternation with the green zone structures. Additional communal gardens and play areas are found in the central park. The settlement structure formulates clearly readable open space typologies and fuses them into a landscape unit along with the neighboring park.
