Green Project 2011

Horb connects: a band of color forms the backbone of the green project and moves in a gentle arc along the Neckar floodplain. It twists and curves in all three dimensions and thus facilitates various spaces for experiencing the project.

Bands of color along the river recall the historical flowering of the city, which was known beyond the borders in the Middle Ages for its textile weaving mills and cloth trade. They stand for the values of commerce, culture and natural landscape of Horb and illustrate the special quality of the city on the Neckar as a metaphor. While Horb was previously
a center for raftsmen and a railway junction, it is today a link between tradition and new media, between trade and research, between history and future, between hosts and guests: “Horb connects”. Three bands form the backbone of the Garden Show 2011: the space structuring “long table” of the culinary mile leads through the old town, the
carpet of flowers of the cultural band and the cloth band undulate along the Neckar floodplain.
